President aside, not much on ballot

11/1/2016

In addition to voting for a new President, United States Senator, congressman, assemblyman, and state senator, some Schoharie County residents will be casting votes on local elections.
Residents in five municipalities will be electing local officials.
According to the Schoharie County Board of Elections, residents in the following municipalities will be casting ballots on local officials on November 8:
• Esperance village trustee. There is no candidate so it will be a write-in election.
• Fulton, Democrat Cathleen Buskey and Republican Thomas Conto are running for justice. Democrat Stacy Scheider and Republican John Felitti are running for a council seat.
• Carlisle: Richard Smith is running for re-election as town justice on both parties.
• Cobleskill village: Incumbents Howard Burt Jr. and Thomas Johnstone are running for re-election without opposition.
• Broome: Republican Roland Gilligan is the lone candidate for justice and Republican Richard Forney is the only candidate for a town board seat.
