T-J kicks off subscription contest for sports booster clubs

Sports booster clubs at Middleburgh, Schoharie and Cobleskill-Richmondville are selling Times-Journal subscriptions with a goal in mind.
Clubs already earn $15 apiece for each new subscription they sell, but the club that sells the most new ones before February 10 will win another $1250 from the T-J.
"It's an incentive to inspire a little friendly competition," said T-J Publisher Jim Poole.
Sports booster clubs traditionally support athletic teams with expenses that their schools may not be able to afford.
Last fall, C-R's All-Sports Booster Club raised more than $200 selling T-J subscriptions.
"We do a lot with sports in the paper, so it's only natural that we give something back," Mr. Poole said.
Club members at all three schools will be selling subscriptions at games, promotions and special events.
The T-J will give occasional updates through the winter sports season and will announce the winner in February.
