Assemblyman Pete Lopez has called a press conference for this Friday on flood safety measures for the Schoharie Valley.
Specifically, Assemblyman Lopez will call on the New York Power Authority to participate in flood-mitigation efforts.
Discussions on flood mitigation should be linked to NYPA's relicensing, Assemblyman Lopez said.
The Assemblyman charged that the Power Authority is trying "to downplay discussion during the federal relicensing period."
Open to the public, the press conference is at 10am in the Board of Supervisors' meeting room in Schoharie.
Besides Assemblyman Lopez, county officials and Dam Concerned Citizens are expected to speak.
