Memorial Day ceremonies to remember veterans

Monday marks Memorial Day, a day that will be recognized around Schoharie County:
COBLESKILL
The Fred L. Stinson Post 57 will host a Memorial Day ceremony on Monday the 29th in Veterans Memorial Centre Park, Cobleskill, at 10am.
All are welcome.
SHARON SPRINGS
Sharon Springs will mark Memorial Day with an 11am parade with music provided by the Sharon Springs Central School marching band under the direction of Ron Letteron.
A memorial address and ceremony will follow in front of the school, where pavers honoring local servicemen and women remain available for purchase.
Floats and motorized vehicles, except for those transporting disabled veterans and ladies auxiliary members are discouraged.
Parade lineup is 10:30am; a Brooks chicken BBQ will follow with advance sale tickets available at SSCS.
CENTRAL BRIDGE
The Central Bridge Fire Department and Civic Association will host their Memorial Day parade at 10am, followed by a ceremony at the Village Green marking the 50th anniversary of the first Schoharie County solider lost in the Vietnam War and commemorating all others who served during the conflict.
The soldiers’ families have also been invited and all are welcome. There will be a re-dedication of the Village Green as well.
MIDDLEBURGH
The Memorial Day ceremony in Middleburgh will be held on Monday starting at 10am in the Memorial Park on upper Main Street. The event is sponsored by the Middleburgh Rotary Club.
Light refreshments will be served after the ceremony.
