Cobleskill man arrested for failing to feed horses

The Cobleskill State Police arrested Seth B. Casey, 47, on multiple violations of the Agricultural and Markets law.
Mr. Casey was charged with two counts of failing to properly dispose of a dead animal and one count of failure to provide sustenance, according to police.
The arrest came after an investigation that revealed that two dead horses were not properly disposed of as per Ag and Markets law, police said. There was also evidence that other animals on the property had not been given food and water for a period of days.
He was issued an appearance ticket to return to the Town of Cobleskill Court on July 25, police said.
Troopers said Friday that they could not release any further information about the case until it is closed.
An official from the Schoharie County District Attorney’s office said Friday that the office would have no further comment on the case since it is an ongoing investigation.
It is not known if there will be further charges in the case.
The arrest came after a joint investigation between the Cobleskill State Police Uniform Road Patrol and the Bureau of Criminal Investigation.
The District Attorney’s office is assisting the State Police with the continuing investigation into the matter.
