The annual Bounty of the County fundraiser for SALT raised $26,000 on Saturday.
The event was held at the Schoharie Valley Farms Carrot Barn and was sold out for the first time with 120 guests and supporters arriving from across the region.
Those in attendance were treated to a cocktail hour, a silent auction, raffle, and a locally sourced dinner in the Carrot Barn’s greenhouse surrounded by flowers and hanging baskets.
Tyler DeGroff, chief of the Hen and the Hound Bistro in Middleburgh, served up masterful appetizers and a four-course meal. Guests were served cauliflower and sweet pea tamales, Moroccan-style lamb from Highland Hollow and Hessian Farm, and Highland Hollow pork over local polenta.
Mr. DeGroff finished the night with cheesecake topped with fresh strawberries from Bohringer’s Fruit Farm.
Between courses, attendees toured the greenhouse to place bids on 80 donated items up for grabs in the raffle and silent auction, including an oil painting by Elizabeth Apgar-Smith and tickets to shows at Proctor’s, SPAC, and the Glimmerglass Opera.
