Middleburgh man arrested with lots of pot

A Middleburgh man was arrested last week on charges of felony marijuana possession after an aerial search.
On Wednesday, the Schoharie County Sheriff’s Office, while conducting a yearly aerial marijuana eradication, located two large plots of marijuana plants in the Town of Middleburgh.
A search warrant was obtained by deputies and approximately 1,700 pounds of live marijuana plants were located in the two plots. The drugs were secured, according to police.
A search of the home revealed numerous items alluding to an indoor marijuana grow as well, police added.
On Thursday, the Sheriff’s Office arrested Robert Lunde, 59, of Middleburgh. He was charged with one count of first-degree criminal possession of marijuana, and one count of unlawfully growing of cannabis, according to police.
He was arraigned in the Town of Middleburgh Court and released on his own recognizance to return to court at a later date, police said.
