Mallery, Stevens win Conservative, Reform lines

Susan Mallery and Ron Stevens were big winners in Schoharie County primary elections last Tuesday.
Ms. Mallery is running for district attorney, and Mr. Stevens is running for sheriff. Both won Conservative and Reform party primaries.
Unofficial results from the county Board of Elections show Ms. Mallery received 100 votes in the Conservative primary and 146 in the Reform polling. There were 26 write-ins in the Conservative voting and 25 in the Reform primary.
Mr. Stevens received 92 votes in the Conservative primary and 143 in the Reform balloting. There were 35 Conservative write-ins and 25 Reform write-ins.
Ms. Mallery and Mr. Stevens were the only candidates on the ballots.
There was one write-in apiece for district attorney and sheriff in the Women’s Equality primary.
Board of Elections officials were counting absentee and write-in ballots this week and expected final and official totals Wednesday or Thursday, a spokesperson said.
