The Duanesburg Central School District Board of Education has selected Francis Macri to fill the position of superintendent of schools starting in January 2018, when Superintendent Christine Crowley retires.
The board expected to formally appoint Mr. Macri at its October 24 meeting in the cafeteria.
“We are pleased to welcome Frank Macri to our school district and look forward to his transition to our community,” said Duanesburg Board of Education President Dirk Felton.
“Frank’s experiences and his desire to engage the students, staff and residents will serve him well as he leads our district forward.
“We thank all who participated with the Board and the Capital Region BOCES in the superintendent search process, especially those community members, faculty and staff who shared their ideas and feedback through our online survey and stakeholder group meetings."” Mr. Macri is principal and chief information officer at Lansingburgh Central School District, where he has also served as grades 9-12 principal and assistant principal, grades 6-12 summer school principal and as an elementary and high school music teacher.
He has also worked as a residential aide at Residential Opportunities Inc.
Mr. Macri holds a School District Leader Certificate from The College of Saint Rose, a master’s in education administration from the University at Albany and a bachelor’s in music education from The College of Saint Rose.
He has served as a member of the Lansingburgh and Voorheesville Central School District PTAs, Rensselaer County Chapter of the NAACP, the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, and the National Association of Secondary School Principals.
“I am honored and extremely excited to become the next superintendent of the Duanesburg Central School District,” Mr. Macri said.
