Hearings set for Spectrum cable contract

1/3/2018

The Negotiating Team for the consortium of 15 municipalities has reached agreement with Spectrum/Charter representatives on a new cable television contract between the company and the consortium’s municipalities.
The new contract will run for 15 years after it is approved by each of the municipalities.
Prior to a vote by the town and village boards, state law requires that the municipalities hold public hearings on the agreement.
To facilitate the public hearings, the Negotiating Team has scheduled three unified public hearings to be held as follows:
•Tuesday, January 16, Town of Duanesburg, Village of Delanson, Town of Esperance, and Village of Esperance, in the Delanson YMCA meeting room at 7pm.
•Thursday, January 18, Town of Middleburgh, Village of Middleburgh, Town of Schoharie, and Village of Schoharie in the Middleburgh Public Library at 7pm.
•Monday, January 22, Town of Cobleskill, Village of Cobleskill, Town of RIchmondville, Village of Richmondville, Town of Seward, Town of Sharon and the Village of Sharon Springs in the cafeteria of the Cobleskill-Richmondville Middle School at 7pm.
The Negotiating Team members – Michael Vandow, Ken Hotopp, John Ganther and Roger Tidball – will be joined at the public hearings by Spectrum representatives Amanda Lanham and Kevin Egan; negotiation consultants John Figliozzi, Tom Isabella and Steven Shaye; the supervisors, mayors and board members of the municipalities and concerned constituents.
Following the public hearings, each municipality will vote on approving the new contracts at their next regularly scheduled board meetings.
