1/10/2018

Francis Macri began his position as Duanesburg superintendent of schools last Tuesday, taking on leadership of the district following the retirement of Christine Crowley.
Mr. Macri was appointed to the position this past October.
“I am honored and excited to be the new superintendent of the Duanesburg Central School District and look forward to working collaboratively with all members of the school community,” Mr. Macri said.
“Over the upcoming month, my plan is to meet as many students, staff, parents and community members as possible.
“It is important for me to listen and observe so I can understand the amazing community that I am lucky to be a part of. The district has made impressive strides during the years to be a leader in education. It is my intention to recognize and respect the past, while continually striving to provide the best education for our students and community.”
Mr. Macri is planning a series of informal meet and greet opportunities.
The first is set for Sunday, January 28 from 3:30-5pm at the Schoharie River Center at 2025 Burtonville Road in Esperance.
He can be reached via email at fmacri@duanesburg.org.
To schedule a meeting, contact the Duanesburg Central School District office at (518)895-2279.
Before coming to Duanesburg, Mr. Macri was a high school principal and chief information officer at Lansingburgh Central School District.
He also has taught music to elementary and high school students and worked as a residential aide.
Mr. Macri holds a School District Leader certificate, master’s in education administration and bachelor’s in music education. He has been active in the Lansingburgh and Voorheesville PTAs, Rensselaer County NAACP chapter, Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, and National Association of Secondary School Principals.
