T-J subscription promo will benefit Cobleskill FD

7/3/2018

A Times-Journal promotion that will last all summer aims to help the Cobleskill Fire Department.
The promo links new subscriptions with donations to the fire department, with half going to firefighters.
“For anyone who buys a new subscription for $50, we’ll give $25 to the Cobleskill department,” said Publisher Jim Poole.
“For anyone who renews an existing subscription, we’ll donate $10.”
The T-J is seeking new subscribers, Mr. Poole said, and this is one way to attract them––and help the fire department at the same time.
“We want new readers. I’m not going to lie,” Mr. Poole said. “At the same time, we owe Cobleskill firefighters big time. This is a way to help both of us.”
It was in December 2015 that an apartment above the Times-Journal caught fire, and the Cobleskill FD, along with other departments, saved the 120-year-old building and business.
The special offer and subscription form is on page XX. Copies of the form, designed by the T-J’s Holly Spiess, are also at the office on Division Street.
The offer will continue at the Sunshine Fair in August. The T-J’s Fair magazine will have an ad for subscriptions and also an insert to promote it further.
Cobleskill firefighters will distribute copies of the magazine at their popular food booth at the Fair.
“We want this to work,” said Mr. Poole. “Take advantage of it and help a great group of volunteers who serve all of us.”
