DOT meeting on Worcester, Richmondville work Thursday at C-R
8/8/2018 |
The New York State Department of Transportation will host a public information meeting to discuss pavement and bridge rehabilitation projects scheduled to begin in 2020 on Interstate 88 in the town of Worcester, and the Town and Village of Richmondville this Thursday, August 9, at the Cobleskill-Richmondville High School.
Doors will open at 6pm with a formal presentation at 6:30pm.
The purpose of the meeting is to familiarize community stakeholders with the project and provide the public with an opportunity to comment on it.
During the construction phase of these projects, traffic patterns will change on I-88 between Exits 19, 20 and 21.
Pavement and bridge rehabilitation along I-88 will require traffic to crossover and travel using one lane in each direction.
The eastbound on ramp at Exit 19 (Worcester) and both eastbound and westbound on ramps, as well as the westbound off ramp at Exit 20 (Richmondville), will be affected by construction.
Detours will be removed during the winter months to allow for normal traffic patterns between the construction seasons.
The projects are in the preliminary design phase.
Construction is scheduled to begin in 2020 and take two construction seasons.
For more information about the project, contact Project Manager Kim Nichols, who can be reached by email at Kim.Nichols@dot.ny.gov; by telephone at (607) 721-8191; or by mail at 44 Hawley Street, Regional Design Office, Binghamton, NY 13901.
