Cobleskill's SP barracks up for sale

The State Police station on Mineral Springs Road in Cobleskill is for sale, but it’s unlikely troopers are leaving.
The real estate firm CBRE Albany listed the property August 2, although police were unaware of the potential sale.
Dimark Development owns the station and leases it to the State Police.
CBRE’s John MacAffer said the station is an income property and is being offered with the idea that the State Police will remain a tenant.
“There’s no concern about the police leaving,” Mr. MacAffer said. “They’re an attractive tenant.
“It’s not being sold with the intent that someone else will be going in there.”
The station is listed at $297,000. Mr. MacAffer did not list the lease amount.
He said Dimark owners Mark and Diane Murphy believe “it’s time to liquidate properties.”
He expects there will be high interest in the property, “but you never know till it’s over.”
Contacted last week and again this week, State Police in Cobleskill and at Troop G headquarters in Latham did not know the station was listed.
“It’s news to me,” one officer said.
Informing the State Police is the responsibility of the owners, Mr. MacAffer said.
And, he added, troopers shouldn’t be concerned that they’ll have to move out.
“There will be no change except where they want the check to be sent,” Mr. MacAffer said.
