Cops charge Cobleskill man with child porn

10/23/2018

A 28-year-old Cobleskill man has been arrested on a charge of promoting sexual performance by a child after an investigation by the Cobleskill Police Department.
Caleb Grippin was arrested at 11:26pm Friday and arraigned in Town of Cobleskill Court.
He was remanded to the Schoharie County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $15,000 bond and was to reappear last night, Tuesday, for further action.
According to police, the arrest followed an investigation into allegations that Mr. Grippin has been observed in possession of child pornography.
That investigation was conducted with the assistance of the New York State Police Computer Crimes Unit.
After receiving the complaint, CPD members executed a search warrant at Mr. Grippin’s home, where they seized numerous electronic devices he owns.
The devices were submitted to the State Police, where forensic analysis showed multiple images of child pornography.
Anyone with more information about the incident is asked to contact Lieutenant Investigator Jeff Brown at (518) 234-2923.
