C-R gets ready to celebrate merger anniversaries

5/1/2019

Cobleskill-Richmondville will mark the 25th anniversary of the schools’ merger and the 20th anniversary of the opening of the high school with special events on May 8.
To honor the active and retired staff members who contributed to the success of the merger and the growth of the district, a 25th Anniversary Team will host staff appreciations at Ryder, Radez, Golding and the high school.
The events will be in the cafeteria of each school after dismissal on the 8th.
There will also be a staff appreciation at the bus garage from 1pm to 2pm that day.
Staff members may attend the appreciation event of their choice and share memories of the district’s successes.
The Anniversary Team is also asking staff members with recollections of the merger to participate in a video project compiled of memories of that time.
If staff members would prefer to write their thoughts and memories of the merger and the early years of the new district, they could do so for a Times-Journal supplement.
In order to plan, staff members should contact Ruth Van Deusen in the district office to let her know which building event they expect to attend.
Also, they should contact Ms. Van Deusen if they plan to participate in the video and/or writing projects. Written memories can also be sent to Ms. Van Deusen.
Her contact information is 518-234-4032 x2002, vandeusenr@crcs.org, or CRCSD District Office, 155 Washington Avenue, Cobleskill, NY, 12043.
