5/22/2019

Steven Maniscalco, Jr. and Johannah Mollitor have been named Cobleskill-Richmondville’s Class of 2019 valedictorian and salutatorian, respectively.
Steven is the son of Steven and Patricia Maniscalco. He is a member of the National Honor Society, French Honor Society, Youth As Leaders, and Boy Scouts. Steven also participates in football, basketball, baseball, and drama club.
Steven has received the New York State Class B Scholar Athlete Award, the National Football Foundation Award, the College Hall of Fame Scholar Athlete Award, and the Dr. Franz Konta Memorial Award for highest average in Biology.
Over the course of his high school years, Steven has learned valuable skills, like how to work through challenging problems and time management.
History class and learning about the past and how it has shaped our present was a favorite subject and is evident in his score of five on the AP World History exam.
Steven advises underclassmen to “do your homework before playing Fortnite.”
In the fall, Steven will head to Boston College to study Environmental Studies.
Johannah is the daughter of Tim and Lori Mollitor. She participates in Environmental Science Club, Swim Team, Stage Band, Schoharie Valley Concert Band, Envirothon, and Drama Club.
Johannah has placed third in Tree Identification and was a Schoharie Valley Envirothon State Qualifier. She has also received an award for Perpetual Love of Learning and has been named Student of the Marking Period for both Music and LOTE.
Naming a favorite subject is difficult for Johannah because she enjoys them all, but teaching the Environmental Science Club about global warming is a favorite memory for her.
Johannah feels that during her high school career, she has learned how to break out of her shell to become a leader.
The future for Johannah is to study Environmental Geochemistry at SUNY New Paltz.
