Fourth plans--but Cobleskill struggles with donations

6/26/2019

With the Fourth of July just around the corner, Cobleskill’s celebration has raised just half of the $7,000 needed for its celebration at the fairgrounds.
Sponsored by the Cobleskill Recreation Commission and the Friends of the Fourth, the event is funded by donations with anything leftover going to the next year’s celebration.
The $7,000 includes the costs of fireworks, insurance, renting the Fairgrounds and advertising.
Donations—even as little as $1—can be sent to Village of Cobleskill—Friends of the 4th, 378 Mineral Springs Road, Suite 2, Cobleskill, NY 12043.
The celebration is also facing a shortfall of volunteers to help park cars, work the main gate, and handle vehicle control afterwards.
