Summit set for bicentennial

ummit will celebrate its 200th birthday this weekend.
Schoharie County’s town on the hill will note its bicentennial with the theme “Back in the Day.”
Friday
4pm: Chicken barbecue at the big tent by the firehouse.
7pm-11pm: Dancing to music by Fasforward.
Saturday
8am-11am: Breakfast sandwiches by Summit Seniors at the firehouse.
10am: Bicentennial calendars, raffle, 50/50 ticket sales at Girardi’s Field.
10am-12:30pm: Youth fishing derby at Summit Lake.
10am: Bake sale at the Methodist Church, craft vendors at Girardi’s Field and food vendors at the firehouse.
Noon-1pm: Music by Pat Fowler in the pavilion.
1pm: Parade.
2pm: Kids’ games at Girardi’s Field.
2pm: Music by YakYak Creek band in the pavilion.
5pm-9pm: Dancing to music by Fasforward in the pavilion.
7pm: Drawings for raffles and 50/50 in the firehouse.
Dark: Fireworks over Summit Lake.
Sunday
8am-11am: Breakfast buffet at the Summit Country Grill and Store.
