Saturday's Cobleskill Day will be jam-packed with fun

Cobleskill Day, a celebration of small-town life, is this Saturday.
Sponsored by Cobleskill Partnership Inc., the downtown advocacy group, Cobleskill Day will run from 9am to 4pm.
There will be village-wide garage sales, and besides garage sales, there will also be downtown sidewalk sales and a host of activities in Centre Park.
In the park, there will be vendors, a farmers’ market, a DJ with music and more.
“This year’s Cobleskill Day will highlight to all what a great place Cobleskill is to live during the fall,” said Bruce Tryon, a CPI board member and chair of the Public Relations Committee.
New this year is a block party in the Division Street parking lot next to the Times-Journal from 4pm to 7pm.
Mayor Linda Holmes, Locomotions and CPI are sponsoring the party, which will feature music, food, games for all ages, face painting and more.
“We hope that the new block party will attract many to our downtown to eat, enjoy music and have a great time,” Mr. Tryon said.

For those planning ahead, CPI will hold its third annual Poker Walk on Saturday, October 19.
Participants pay $25 and get a poker card at Locomotions, American Tavern, Cellar Tavern at the Bull’s Head Inn, Chieftans and Justine’s.
At the end of the evening, players will turn in their five cards, and the best poker hand wins at least $100.
“This is the third year we’ve held the poker walk, and it’s a fun and unique way to get together with friends and enjoy great food and drink and support our local taverns and restaurants,” said Mr. Tryon.
