COBLESKILL
The holidays are coming, and Cobleskill Partnership Inc. is ready.
CPI, the downtown improvement organization, has a number of activities, all of which are themed “Make Cobleskill Your Holiday Destination.”
CPI will again host Cobleskill’s holiday celebration, and it’s coming up this Saturday, from 3pm to 7pm.
There will be performances by choir, live music, vendors, food and more.
The parade lines up at 4pm at Campus Drive and will step off at 5pm. It will march to Veterans’ Memorial Centre Park, where there will be a tree-lighting and a welcome for Santa.
Cobleskill Partnership is sponsoring a home decorating contest and drive-about.
There will be prizes for best use of lights, best theme and most creative.
Homeowners must register by December 13. To register, send an email to cobleskillpartnership@gmail.com.
Registration should include the participant’s name, address and phone number, which will not be shared.
Homes will be identified on a map to allow people to view the decorations.
Judging will be between December 16 and the 19th. Homes should be illuminated between 5:30pm and 8:30pm.

WORCESTER
The Worcester Woman’s Club will hold its annual Christmas tree lighting today, Wednesday on the front lawn of the school at 6:30pm. There will also be caroling.
 Beforehand, beginning at 5:15pm inside the school, there will be free photos with Santa, cookies, and cocoa.

MIDDLEBURGH
Middleburgh’s 21st annual Miracle on Main Street will kick off at 5:15pm Friday with a tree lighting on the Middleburgh High School front lawn, where the MCS Music Department will also provide holiday music.
At 6pm, Jim Spencer will tell Christmas stories at the library, followed by the Fiddling Friar and Anna’s Puppet Animals at 6:30pm and at 7pm, songs with the Hill City Ice Queen and Snow Princess.
At 6pm, there will be selfies with Santa at the barbershop.
Throughout the evening, which runs till 8:30pm, there will be pony rides and a petting zoo, live reindeer, and “wise Owls” with the New York Wildlife Rescue Center.
DJ MTECH will provide a sound and light show, Sparky and the Grinch will be greeting fans at  a Middleburgh Fire Truck, and there will be an Elves’ Workshop at the Best House Museum.
There will also be plenty of refreshments available from street vendors and shops and restaurants will be offering specials, tastings, and more.

SCHOHARIE
Saturday, the festivities move to Schoharie for A Storybook Christmas.
Featuring a “Christmas Movies,” theme, the Christmas in Schoharie parade will leave Schoharie Central School at 5pm, traveling down Spring Street on Main.

Before the parade, starting at 4pm, the Schoharie Reformed Church will serve chili; following the parade, the Schoharie Kiwanis will hold a tree lighting on the front law at the DAR, where Santa will also be on hand and the parade winners will be announced.
Events throughout the day will include a pancake breakfast at the schoharie firehouse, 8am-noon, and from 8am-2pm, crafts, ornament decorating, and Christmas stories at the Christ the Shepherd Lutheran Church.

OLD STONE FORT
From 10am-3pm Saturday, Sinterklass will be at the Old Stone Fort, where visitors will also be able to learn about the traditional Dutch holiday, St. Nicholas Day.
There will be seasonal music performed by Uncle Billy’s Balladeers, a local holiday market, traditional and American refreshments, and a chance for kids to string popcorn and cranberries, and make and take home their own pomander and paper-cutting art.

CENTRAL BRIDGE
The Central Bridge Civic Association will sponsor a Christmas party Saturday at the Methodist Church Hall, 196 Church Street, with crafts, games, refreshments and more. All are welcome.
Before the fun, the CBCA will also mark the grand opening of its Little Library, located at the Central Mat Laundrymat at noon.
