With at least five people interested in Mary Ann Wollaber-Bryan’s seat on the Cobleskill Town Board, the Cobleskill GOP expects to caucus before suggesting a replacement. Or two.
“They’ll give us a couple of names and then it will be up to us to choose from them,” Supervisor Leo McAllister explained Monday.
The appointment will likely be made before the town’s year-end meeting on December 30.
Ms. Wollaber-Bryan ran unopposed for Schoharie County treasurer, a job she’ll assume January 1.
But that leaves another year remaining in her term as councilman.
Mr. McAllister said whoever the town appoints will serve the year, but will have to run in November 2020.
“I think there are four or five people who are interested,” he said.
“The Republicans will caucus, but we’ll decide.”
