Cops seek leads in West Main Street home invasion

Saturday, January 4, at about 3:27am, Cobleskill Police responded to a report of a burglary and robbery at a home on West Main Street.
The victim in the home invasion told police that three unknown men entered his apartment, threatened him with what appeared to be handguns, and forcibly stole money and valuables from the apartment before fleeing in a black SUV-type vehicle.
The victim couldn’t ID the type of handguns and police have no additional description of the vehicle.
Police said that at this time, it appears that the victim may have been individually targeted by the suspects.
No one was injured during the incident.
The incident did not occur on the SUNY Cobleskill campus, and the victim is a student there.
However, members of the Cobleskill Police Department are investigating the incident and are being assisted by the SUNY Cobleskill University Police Department due to the incident location’s proximity to the college.
Police said the incident appears to be isolated in nature, and there does not appear to be any threat to the general public.
