Wright man arrested in string of thefts

A 47-year-old Town of Wright man is facing multiple charges after an investigation into burglaries, larcenies, and gas drive-offs uncovered stolen items—including an ATV—at his home.
James E. Reinhart Jr. was arrested on charges of Class D felony criminal possession of stolen property third degree and Class E felony criminal possession of stolen property fourth degree.
According to police, his arrest followed investigations into reports of multiple burglaries, larcenies, and gas drive-offs in both Schoharie and Schenectady Counties.
Troopers from Cobleskill and Princetown coordinated an investigation, which identified Mr. Reinhart as a suspect and led to the execution of a search warrant at his home on Thursday.
During the search of Mr. Reinhart’s home, numerous stolen items were recovered from multiple investigations; among them, an ATV reported stolen in November in the Town of Duanesburg.
Also recovered were numerous items reported stolen in January from a burglary at a home in the Town of Esperance.
Mr. Reinhart was additionally charged with multiple counts on the Class A misdemeanor of petit larceny stemming from numerous gas drive-off investigations in the Town of Middleburgh between September and December.
The investigation into Mr. Reinhart’s activities is ongoing.
Investigators are specifically attempting to locate a Coleman pop-up camper stolen during the same burglary as numerous other items recovered from Mr. Reinhart’s home.
