Community Library to host climate change discussion

2/12/2020

On Thursday, February 27 at 6pm, the Cobleskill Community Library will host a scientifically-grounded, action-oriented and eye-opening discussion on climate change.
Moderated by Peter Savio, this program will cover a wide range of strategies to reduce emissions in order to contain and reduce climate disruption risks.
The Community Library is located at 110 Union Street, Cobleskill.
This event is free, open to the public and refreshments will be served.
Mr. Savio, a resident of Gallupville, is a former NYSERDA team leader, an energy analyst with Cornell Cooperative Extension, and a small business owner.
“This is a great opportunity to discuss and dynamically test different strategies to de-carbonize our economy, and help protect our health and environment,” Mr. Savio said.
Audience members will be invited to suggest climate solution strategies, such as energy efficiency, carbon pricing and fossil fuel taxes, then be shown how they impact global warming trends.
“The program's intent is to recognize that slowing global warming will require a relatively rapid and strong combination of public engagement and systematic policy change,” Mr. Savio said.
This event is presented in the public interest by Peacemakers of Schoharie County.
