Jefferson turns out for the Class of 2020

With balloons, streamers, hand-written signs, and bags of goodies, Jefferson turned out to honor the Class of 2020 Wednesday in a car parade from the school past the Town Green.
The event was mostly a surprise for the 22 seniors, most of whom haven’t seen their teachers since COVID closed all schools in mid-March.
Whether there will still be a graduation ceremony and it what it might look like is still up in the air, but the parade was a fun way to highlight seniors’ achievements, organizers said.
Students were asked to line up by a sign with their name along the parade route and then stood by as JCS faculty and staff, flanked by cars fire trucks and even local construction trucks that got swept up in the event, marched by, handing them each bags of donated gifts, t-shirts, and what else? Masks.
The parade was supported by contributions from faculty and staff, and JCS’ parent group, Art Club, and year book.
The JCS Class of 2020 is: Nickkayla Aldrich, Sidnee Anderson, Tristain Champion, Amber Cole, Ethan Cole, Olivia Eppich, Jessica Fagan, and Erin Fallo.
Also: Cole Lapinel, Kevin Lindquist, Creed Mattice, Kaylee McMahon, Mariah Reed, Tess Shader, Dakota Shafer, Braden Steigmeir, Annette Stocks, Mykaela Stoesser, Paul Thompson, Seth Wade, Lorissa Williams, and Robert Williams.
