Investigation continues into Carlisle fatal

The Schoharie County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the April 27 accident that claimed the life of Mindy Huluska.
Whether charges result from the crash may depend on blood tests now at the State Police lab, according Investigator Bruce Baker of the Sheriff’s Office and District Attorney Susan Mallery.
At about 2:30pm on the 27th, Ms. Huluska was a back-seat passenger in a car being driven on Lykers Road, Carlisle. Her vehicle and a farm truck driven by Colton Sisson and Leland Brooker collided nearly head-on, Investigator Baker said.
Vincent Arico was driving the vehicle Ms. Huluska was in. Deputies are not saying yet which of the two young men were driving the farm truck.
Ms. Huluska died despite life-saving efforts from first responders and hospital staff, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Colton and Leland and two people in Ms. Huluska’s vehicle suffered injuries and were treated and released.
The farm truck was uninsured and unregistered and belonged to the Sisson family, Investigator Baker said.
Survivors of the crash consented to blood tests, and those samples are at the State Police lab.
Investigator Baker said test results should come in several weeks, longer than usual because the lab is short-staffed, caused by the COVID pandemic.
And, he added, all information “was given to the District Attorney.”
Any charges resulting, Ms. Mallery said, may come after the results of the blood tests.
“Nothing will be done until everything is gathered,” she said.
Ms. Huluska was the mother of two Cobleskill-Richmondville students. Colton and Leland are 11th-graders at C-R.
