Cliff Hay still on Dem Committee. Probably

The tally is in for the Schoharie County Democratic Committee election, and it looks like longtime committee Chairman Cliff Hay will remain on the committee.
Probably.
Tabulated by the county Board of Elections last week, the results show Anne Rogan with 156 votes, Brideen Finegan with 113, Randall Gunther at 111, Mr. Hay and his wife, Elizabeth with 102 and Stanley Skinner Jr. with 88.
The top four will be on the county committee, so that would be Ms. Rogan, Ms. Finegan, Mr. Gunther and one of the Hays.
Rich Shultes of the Board of Elections said he’d contact the state office about the process for a tie in the last spot.
One of the two may drop out, Mr. Shultes said.
Mr. Hay, a longtime elections commissioner, isn’t sure of the process either.
“The committee could choose one of them, or we’ll see if one can decline,” Mr. Hay said. “But we’ll have to call the state.”
Mr. Hay has chaired the county committee for more than 40 years, and he knows there’s a movement to pick a new chairman.
Mr. Hay can’t be chairman if he’s not on the committee, however, and that’s still unclear.
Whether he is or not, the committee probably won’t select a chairman until October. Governor Andrew Cuomo pushed back the gathering date until fall because of social distancing concerns, Mr. Hay said.
