Iroquois gives to food bank

Iroquois Gas Transmission System recently contributed $5,000 to the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York to address the ongoing food insecurity crisis in the state.
The donation will support the organization’s efforts to provide nutritious food for residents in Northeastern New York who are struggling with hunger.
“Iroquois is dedicated to serving its local communities and has a long-standing history of helping to fight hunger in Connecticut and New York,” said Jeffrey Bruner, president of Iroquois Pipeline Operating Company.
“With all the challenges that come with COVID-19, it’s more important than ever to help those who have lost jobs and are having difficulties in affording food to feed their families.”
The Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York has been helping to feed those in need in 23 Northeastern NY counties since 1982.
The Food Bank collects over 35 million pounds of food each year and distributes it to 1,000 charitable agencies serving hungry people from urban, rural, and suburban communities.
“There has always been a need for food support services in the communities we serve, but unforeseen circumstances brought on by the COVID pandemic have left many more New Yorkers struggling with hunger,” said Mark Quandt, executive director of the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York.
“We’re so grateful to Iroquois for making our mission a priority and helping us serve those in need, especially during this difficult time.”
