We want your recipes

The Times-Journal is looking for your favorite recipes to share with all readers.
The T-J is seeking recipes for its 29th annual “Hometown Cooking,” filled with specialties from Schoharie County cooks.
This year is unique, too. With so many people at home during the pandemic, they’re looking for something new to try in the kitchen.
“2020 has been a challenge in many ways, but there’s been a resurgence in cooking at home,” said T-J Publisher Jim Poole. “It’s a good time to share ideas.”
A flyer in this week’s T-J helps readers submit recipes, which can be longtime family favorites or completely new dishes.
“Of al the projects we do, this is one of our most rewarding,” Mr. Poole said. “We love to see what Schoharie County is cooking.”
Recipes can be appetizers, drinks and punches, breads, soups, casseroles, quiches, meats, fish, game, vegetables, side dishes, desserts and more.
“Hometown Cooking” will be published November 18, and although it arrives right before the holidays, recipes needn’t be on holiday cooking alone.
“Even on the brink of winter, we look for summer dishes and barbecue, too,” Mr. Poole said.
Recipes must be submitted to the T-J office by October 23.
One restriction is that readers may submit only three recipes.
The flyer asks for a list of ingredients and instructions, and the recipes must be easy to read.
Readers should also include a phone number in case there are questions. Numbers won’t be published.
Recipes can also be emailed to tjournalnews@yahoo.com, and the recipe form is on the T-J website, timesjournalonline.com.
