Walls of friends smile down on Sharon Springs

It’s not like anyone really needs a reason to slow down and smile when driving through Sharon Springs.
But now there’s 103 of them: poster-sized photos of friends, neighbors, and visitors plastered on the front of the Imperial Baths in a local version of the Inside Out Project.
Volunteers from the fledgling Sharon Springs Community Arts Project began snapping the photos in front of Klinkhart Hall in August.
From there, the shots went to French photographer “JR’s” site, where as part of his global art project, they were turned into large-format posters for a $20 contribution each, and then delivered back to Sharon Springs—where they began being hung about 10 days ago.
“This is so much fun,” said Mayor Doug Plummer, stopping by the site Thursday.
“It’s just another feather in our cap. You can’t help but smile when you see it.”
More information on the project is available at SharonSpringsNow.org.
More volunteers are also welcome to help hang the posters.
