Sixteen people at Cobleskill-Richmondville’s Golding School were quarantined last week because of a possible exposure to COVID-19.
The Schoharie County Health Department ordered the quarantine on Wednesday.
The 16 were quarantined at their homes under supervision of the Health Department, and since then, most have been released, C-R Superintendent Carl Mummenthey said Monday.
“We had an individual suspected of having been in contact with a positive case,” Mr. Mummenthey said, adding that contact tracing identified the 16.
None of the 16 tested positive, he added.
Privacy laws prohibit C-R from releasing names of the people, but the district will notify staff and families if any further action is necessary.
C-R has coronavirus surveys, sanitizer and other safety gear at school entrances, and the district also set a protocol for incidents such as this one.
“It was a good test,” Mr. Mummenthey said. “Our system worked well, and the Health Department was terrific to work with.”
There have been no confirmed positives among faculty, staff and students, he added.
