Drugs, drug houses also a pandemic

COVID isn’t the only pandemic Schoharie County is dealing with, Sheriff Ron Stevens told supervisors Friday.
Drugs, drug houses, and drug-related deaths—there have been three since the first of the year, he said—are nearly as bad as a scourge.
“And law enforcement is concerned about doing the right thing.”
Wednesday, working with the State Police and the Cobleskill Police, Sheriff Stevens said, deputies arrested two people at a suspected Richmondville “drug house.”
Arrested were Joshua Decker, 36; and Stephanie Decker, 29.
Police found the two in possession of an ounce of heroin and two ounces of methamphetamine, Sheriff Stevens said, after they executed a search warrant at 5097 State Route 10 in the Town of Richmondville.
Drugs “that were destined for distribution to our county.”
Mr. Decker was arrested on three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a Class B felony.
He was arraigned in Town of Richmondville Court and remanded to jail to appear in court at a later date.
Ms. Decker was arrested on one count of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree.
She was issued an appearance ticket and released to appear in court at a later date.
The arrests were the result of a months-long investigation by all three agencies.
