Communities plan Memorial Day observances

5/26/2021

The Middleburgh Rotary Club will be hosting a Memorial Day ceremony and Veterans Monument dedication on Monday, May 31 at 10am in the Village of Middleburgh’s Memorial Park on Upper Main Street.
After years of fundraising and planning, Rotary will be unveiling a monument honoring World War II, Korean War, and Vietnam War veterans.
In addition to the new monument, Memorial Park also features monuments honoring Revolutionary War and World War II veterans, and a fountain that was dedicated to World War I veterans nearly a century ago.
Rotary’s annual Memorial Day Ceremony was re-imagined in 2020 with a car parade, but is returning to in-person ceremonies this year.
While masks are no longer required for most outdoor activities, those attending are asked to maintain social distance.
