One-stop shots: Rabies and COVID vax at Fairgrounds Thursday

There will be one-stop of a different sort at the Cobleskill Fairgrounds Thursday.
From 6-8pm, the Schoharie County Department of Health will be holding a rabies clinic—for cats and dogs.
But now, at the same time, the Health Department will also be holding a COVID vaccination clinic for people.
Both the J&J and Pfizer vaccines will be available on a walk-in or pre-registration basis, said Health Department Director Amy Gildemeister.
Those who want to pre-register can follow the link on the Health Department’s Facebook page or call the Health Department at (518) 295-8365.
Those who want to walk in can just show up.
Appointments are required for the rabies vaccinations.
Look for that link on the Health Department’s Facebook page.
There will be three separate lines for the vaccines—one for those just seeking the pet rabies shot, one for those just there for the COVID vaccine, and a third for people who want both.
Anyone age 12 or older is eligible for the COVID vaccine, but those under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
There will plenty of help on hand to direct people to the right line, Dr. Gildemeister said.
