Parades, fun, fireworks for our 4th Sunday
6/30/2021 |
Cobleskill and Sharon Springs are hosting July 4 parades on Sunday, and they’re scheduled so that families can attend both.
Sharon Springs is at 10am, and Cobleskill’s, 5pm.
“America Strong” is the theme for Sharon’s parade, and parade entries are encouraged to incorporate music. Floats are expected from around Schoharie County and beyond.
The parade will begin at Dairyland on Route 20, proceed west to Chestnut Street and then head to the athletic field off Chestnut Street.
Volunteers are needed, and information can be found on the Sharon Springs Chamber website.
Cobleskill’s parade kicks off an evening of activities.
After the parade, which will march down Main Street, there will be three-legged races, sack races and booths for temporary tattoos and photos at Veterans’ Memorial Centre Park.
Cargie’s will provide food at the park.
There will be Frisbee golf, Kan Jam, and cornhole at Nick Iorio Park, and families are encouraged to enjoy the Imagination Creation Playground.
Also available will be the volleyball basketball courts and skate park at Teen Town until 9pm.
Jo Jo’s will offer food at the Eagles’ Aerie, and the Famous Philly Cheesesteak truck will be at Ace Nobel Hardware.
All the activities lead up to fireworks, which will be touched off behind Price Chopper at dark.
