Are you ready for...the T-J Football Challenge?
9/9/2021 |
As the baseball season winds down, the football season winds up––and the Times-Journal Football Challenge arrives with it.
The Challenge remains the same as in the past: Pick games, and the best record wins.
There are 10 pro games and five college games, as usual. If there’s a tie among players, the one with the closest point total on the 15th game is the winner.
The weekly prize is $25.
There’s one slight shift this year. With the T-J being published on Thursday instead of Wednesday, players have less time to make their picks.
“You’re going to have to pick a little more quickly,” said Publisher Jim Poole. “Don’t wait.”
The previous deadline for submitting picks was 9am Saturday; to help a little, the deadline is now noon Saturday.
The fastest way to enter is by emailing picks to tjournalnews@yahoo.com. But picks can also be dropped at the T-J office on Division Street or mailed to the Times-Journal, PO Box 339, Cobleskill. A Saturday postmark is acceptable.
One advertiser sponsors the Challenge each week, and the first sponsor is the Red Barn Clubhouse.
The Challenge is on page 24.
