Get cooking: T-J wants your recipes for 30th Hometown Cooking

10/14/2021

The Times-Journal wants to share your treasured family recipes with readers.
Those recipes, new and old, will be featured in the T-J’s “Hometown Cooking,” the 30th edition of what’s become a favorite magazine.
A flyer in this week’s T-J helps readers submit recipes, which can be for just about any dish.
“We have many projects through the year, but this is near the top of the list,” said T-J Publisher Jim Poole. “We love to see what’s going on in Schoharie County kitchens.”
Recipes can be appetizers, drinks and punch, breads, soups, casseroles and quiche, desserts, meat and fish, game, salads and vegetables and sides.
The T-J will publish “Hometown Cooking” November 18, but recipes must be submitted by October 28 to allow time for production.
Although “Hometown Cooking” comes out right before the holidays, recipes needn’t be about holiday cooking alone.
“Even though winter’s approaching, we’re looking for summer dishes, grilling and barbecue, too,” said Mr. Poole. “People keep this edition all year.”
The flyer asks for a list of ingredients and instructions, and the recipes must be easy to read.
Readers should also include a phone number in case there are questions. Numbers won’t be published.
Recipes can also be emailed to tjournalnews@yahoo.com, and the recipe form is on the T-J website, Cobleskilltimesjournalonline.
