Health Department warns of possible COVID exposure

The Schoharie County Department of Health is warning anyone who ate at La Taqueria in Cobleskill last Wednesday or Thursday of a potential COVID-19 exposure.
Anyone in the restaurant those days should monitor themselves for COVID symptoms for 14 days and if they develop symptoms, be tested for COVID and isolate while waiting for the results.
The Health Department points out people can have COVID and not show symptoms and suggests anyone with a possible exposure consider taking precautions so they don’t spread COVID.
According to the Centers for Disease Control, Schoharie County’s COVID positivity rate is 5.4 percent and 57.9 percent of those eligible have been fully vaccinated.
Fifty-six new cases of COVID were reported over the past week.
One additional death was reported Sunday and another Monday for a total of 24.
According to the state Health Department, of the 240 COVID tests run here last Friday, October 22, 21 residents tested positive.
SUNY Cobleskill has reported 105 positive COVID cases to date for a positivity rate of .28 percent.
Local schools have reported 74 cases of COVID to date: Cobleskill-Richmondville, 25; Schoharie, 24; Jefferson, 19; Middleburgh, 4; Gilboa-Conesville, 2; Sharon and Worcester, 0.
