Schoharie County follows state primary trends

Schoharie County voters followed statewide trends in New York’s primaries Tuesday.
County Republicans backed Lee Zeldin as their gubernatorial candidate. Local Democrats tabbed incumbent Governor Kathy Hochul to run again and also picked Antonio Delgado as their lieutenant governor candidate.
All three won statewide.
Unofficial results show Mr. Zeldin received 525 votes from county Republicans. Harry Wilson received 486; Rob Astorino, 277; and Andrew Giuliani, 243.
Statewide, Mr. Zeldin received 193,184 to 100,372 for Mr. Giuliani, 80,223 for Mr. Astorino and 64,594 for Mr. Wilson in unofficial results.
Governor Hochul was the runaway winner among county Democrats, getting 701 votes to 113 for Thomas Suozzi and 81 for Jumaane Williams.
Unofficial results statewide gave 574,608 for Governor Hochul, 164,337 for Mr. Williams and 110,888 for Mr. Suozzi.
Mr. Delgado received similar support from county Democrats, getting 793 votes to 54 for Ana Maria Archila and 43 for Diana Reyna.
Unofficial statewide results showed 490,383 votes for Mr. Delgado, 200,793 for Ms. Archila and 114,773 for Ms. Reyna.
In Middleburgh, five candidates sought four seats on the Democratic County Committee. Timothy Knight received 26 votes, Chad Bowman and Richard Shultes received 24 each, Patricia Shultes had 23 votes and Johnathan Foland, 17.
