Lilies bloom in Schoharie

7/7/2022

The Schoharie Promotional Association is celebrating summer with its annual Lily Festival this Saturday.
Free and open to the public, the festival runs from 10am to 3pm at the Lily Park near the Old Stone Fort in Schoharie.
More than 50 vendors will be on the covered bridge and in the park.
The theme is “All Creatures Great and Small,” and honeybees, goats, therapy pigs and the Cobleskill Police Department’s dog will be on hand.
Along the lines of the theme, children can help with the release of ladybugs and butterflies at 10:30am.
Leashed dogs are welcome, and there will be contests starting at noon for best kisser, best trick, largest lap dog, owner/dog look-alikes and silver seniors.
There’s also entertainment: Roger Shafer at 10:30, Noah Florussen at noon, Pat Flower and Barry Brown at 1pm and Burke Herrick at 2.
The Schoharie Promotional Association will be selling festival items and will hold a chance auction of donated items, including local gift certificates and theme baskets.
The auction starts at 1:30pm, with Doug Cater as the auctioneer.
Schoharie Promotional is raising money for a pavilion at the park, and money from the auction will go towards that project.
