T-J adds high-end printer

7/7/2022

The Printers, the Times-Journal’s commercial print shop, added a digital printer that handles more jobs for less money.
The Printers last week took in a Konica Minolta Accurio Press to replace a Xerox printer that was worn out after five years.
“It can do a lot more with far better quality than the Xerox,” said Denise Smith, The Printers’ manager.
She pointed to the photo quality and sharp resolution in the jobs the Konica Minolta’s done in the past week.
Also, Ms. Smith said, the new printer can easily print envelopes, which the Xerox could do only slowly.
The Konica Minolta is also less expensive to operate, resulting in lower costs to The Printers, and those savings in many cases will be passed on to customers, according to Publisher Jim Poole.
“The Printers is already the least expensive commercial printer in the county,” Mr. Poole said. “Now we’re going even lower–-and with better quality.”
Besides those benefits, Konica Minolta also promises faster service and training when necessary, Ms. Smith said.
In addition to envelopes, the Konica Minolta can also print:
