State Police arrested the student who posted a bomb threat at Cobleskill-Richmondville High School on the first day of school.
Troopers reported the 14-year-old was charged with making a terroristic threat, a Class D felony.
State Police responded shortly before 10am September 7 after one student alerted High School Principal Brett Barr about the threat posted on social media.
Students and faculty had to ‘shelter in place’ to keep the halls open while troopers swept the school with K9 units.
“The investigation determined the threats were unfounded, and there was no safety risk to anyone at the school,” State Police reported.
The 14-year-old will appear in Schoharie County Family Court at a later date.
Besides being arrested, the student also faces disciplinary action from the school.
