SEEC cuts ribbon on future

The Schoharie Economic Enterprise Corp. officially cut the ribbon on its 287 Main Wednesday in grand opening ceremonies for its collaborative 21st-century work environment and new hub for economic development in Schoharie County.
“We are deeply invested in our local business community and are committed to developing the resources and ecosystem that will help local businesses and industry thrive,” said Thomas Putnam, founder and chairman of SEEC.
“287 Main is proof of that commitment and an exciting new chapter here on Main Street.”
SEEC Executive Director Julie Pacatte said 287 Main “has already served as a springboard for collaboration within the community. We will continue to create opportunities through the space that empower and uplift the artisans, freelancers, entrepreneurs, and businesses in our community.”
Bank of America donated the building to SEEC as part of its ongoing commitment to fostering economic growth in Schoharie County.
Joining SEEC to mark the occasion were State Senator Peter Oberacker, State Assemblyman Chris Tague, Village of Schoharie Mayor Lawrence Caza, and Town Supervisor Alicia Terry, chair, County Economic Development Committee.
During the ceremony, Assemblyman Tague spoke of what the ribbon-cutting represents as part of the economic development efforts that the county and private sector have been working towards for years.
The impact of this new 21st-century workspace offers an abundance of opportunities to open the County’s front door to the capital region and beyond, he said.
Events and programming at 287 Main are open to everyone.
287 Main also offers flexible membership options to fit every stage of growth, from the once-a-month visitor to the small business that needs a spacious private office with guest seating.
