The Christmas holidays come in a rush for Schoharie County this weekend.
More than a half-dozen holiday happenings are on tap for Saturday and Sunday.

SCHOHARIE
The Schoharie Fire Department will host a pancake breakfast on Saturday, starting at 8am.
Also at the firehouse, there will be ornament-making, visits with Santa and a gingerbread house contest.
A scavenger hunt through the village also starts at the firehouse, and events switch downtown, where Santa will make an appearance and Brian Keller will play holiday music by the Courthouse.
The Schoharie Central School FFA will also have free hayrides starting at 10am.
The parade lineup is at 4pm at the school and will step out at 5, marching to Lasell Hall, where there will be a tree lighting after the parade.

COBLESKILL
Cobleskill’s December to Remember starts at 2:30pm Saturday with holiday movies and popcorn at the firehouse.
A parade with 29 floats marches down Main Street to Veterans’ Memorial Centre Park at 5pm, where there will be caroling and a tree-lighting.
Santa will lead families back to firehouse afterwards for more activities.
There’s also a village-wide decorating contest, with top prizes of $250 for each home and business winner.

ESPERANCE
The Esperance Historical Society and Museum will host a Christmas open house at the museum on Church Street on Saturday, 10am-3pm.

There will be holiday music, a candy cane hunt, decorated shops and restaurants, along with seasonal refreshments.
At 5pm, there will be a tree lighting in Chalybeate Park and visits with Santa.
All activities are hosted by the Sharon Springs Chamber of Commerce and The Businesses of Sharon Springs.

FORT
The Old Stone Fort Museum will have a holiday market, craft demonstration, live music, traditional Dutch and American snacks, wassail and more starting at 10am Saturday.
