Schoharie boy dies in ATV ccident

A 17-year-old Schoharie Central School student was killed Saturday in an ATV accident in Duanesburg.
Connor Summerfield of Howes Cave was a junior at SCS.
He also attended Capital Region BOCES in Schoharie.
Both schools are making counselors available for students who knew Connor.
According to State Police, at about 3:05pm Saturday, they responded to the area of Batter Street, Duanesburg for a reported ATV crash with injuries.
Batter Street is off Duanesburg Churches Road in the vicinity of Mariaville Lake.
According to State Police, a preliminary investigation determined an ATV being operated on the road by Connor with a 14-year-old passenger exited the road, striking an earth embankment.
Connor and the passenger were both ejected from the ATV, Troopers said.
The passenger suffered minor injuries and was not transported to the hospital.
Connor suffered severe injuries and was transported to Ellis Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later, Troopers said.
An investigation into the crash was continuing.
State Police were assisted at the scene by the Schenectady County Sheriff’s Office, Mariaville Fire Department, Duanesburg Volunteer Amublance Corp., Mohawk Ambulance, and LifeNet of New York.
