Schoharie County DPW Commissioner Dan Crandell has accomplished what no one else could:
He’s gotten a speed reduction on at least a portion of Mineral Springs road.
After months of trying, Cobleskill Supervisor Werner Hampel said in December that in a long, detailed explanation, DOT had said it wouldn’t drop the speed limit in the hamet of Mineral Springs from 45 to 40mph—despite petitions from neighbors.
Mr. Hampel said then that he was hoping to find a work-around with Mr. Crandell’s help.
And he has.
At Mr. Crandell’s request, the speed limit will be reduced to 45mph from near Borst Noble Road to Dow Street, Mr. Hampel said.
