Kenneth’s Army is taking to the road again.
Created in memory of Kenneth White, who was 5 when he was murdered by his cousin on December 18, 2014 in the Albany County Town of Knox, Kenneth’s Army works to speak out against child abuse and neglect.
The 9th annual Kenneth’s Ride, a fundraiser for efforts that include providing Thanksgiving meals for families and supporting the Hilltop Sheriff’s Christmas Fund, and a scholarship for a Berne-Knox-Westerlo student pursuing a career in Social Services, is set for Saturday, June 3.
Registration will be from 9-11am at the Berne Town Park, volunteer Dawn Gibson told members of the Schoharie Town Board Wednesday.
“We’re really trying to make something good come out of this tragedy,” Ms. Gibson said.
The route will travel throughout the Hilltowns and down Route 443 with stops at the Babbling Brook Restaurant in Berne and the Maple on the Lake in East Berne.
There will be live music at the Berne Town Park as well as a continental breakfast, chicken BBQ, door prizes, and raffles.
Ms. Gibson said there’s a way for everyone to participate—by bike, by car, or just “hanging out with us in the park.”
