Marathon for a Better Life has been awarded a $25,000 grant from Nick Juried to help those in Schoharie County who are battling cancer.
While MFABL doesn’t quality for a grant from the Nicholas A. Juried Family Foundation, which focuses on the restoration, preservation and promotion of local history, in a letter, Mr. Juried told the non-profit’s president, Kathy Diamond, that he’s “extremely impressed with your compassion,” and called board members’ enthusiasm “infectious,” adding, “I will be happy to make a donation of $25,000 from my personal retirement account.”
“We at the Marathon cannot express enough how much this $25,000 grant from Mr. Juried means to those who are suffering in Schoharie County from cancer,” Ms. Diamond said.
“Mr. Juried continues to make this a better place through his generosity. He is is truly a remarkable individual filled with compassion who is making a difference in the lives of people who need it the most.”
