Passport Day is Wednesday the 19th

10/13/2023

The Schoharie County Clerk’s Office will host a special Passport Day on Thursday, October 19, 8:30am-8pm at the County Clerk’s Office, 284 Main Street, Schoharie.
This is in addition to the normal hours for accepting passport applications, Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5pm.
The office accepts applications for new passports, minors, and those whose passports are more than 15 years old.
Staff can also help those who are renewing and will take passport photos.
Passport times are currently 8-11 weeks for routine service; 5-7 weeks for expedited service.
Reminder: after May 2025, travelers will need something more than a driver’s license for any domestic flights--Passport Book or card, Enhanced License, or Real ID.
No glasses can be worn in photos except under certain circumstances and with a doctor’s note. Darker clothing is preferred.
Needed to apply for a passport: birth certificate with raised seal and both parents listed or certificate of naturalization; driver’s license or photo ID with picture, signature, and date of birth; check or money order only, payable to the Department of State; check, credit card, money order or cash for the processing fee payable to Schoharie County Clerk.
For children 15 and under, both parents must be present or a notarized waiver from the absent parent with a copy of their driver’s license, front and back, must be presented.
